Functional Amputee Support Team (FAST) is a non-profit organization for people who are amputees or may be facing amputation. They try to provide information that will be helpful to get back into mainstream life. FAST was started in 1991 by a handful of people who realized the need for an amputee support group in Southern California (Orange County). The group now reaches over 300 individuals via newsletters, hospital visits, and gets involved with disabled sports.
 


The Western Amputee Support Alliance (WASA) is an informal association of amputee support groups located in the western United States that have voluntarily banded together for the specific purpose of publicizing the services they offer to the amputee community and disseminating information
 


The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) is a national, non-profit amputee consumer educational organization representing people who have experienced amputation or are born with limb differences. The ACA includes individual amputees, amputee education and support groups for amputees, professionals, family members and friends of amputees, amputation or limb loss related agencies and organizations.
 

The National Amputee Golf Association (NAGA) began over 40 years ago and is a not-for-profit organization that offers physical and mental therapy to amputees through involvement with golf.
 

The Western Amputee Golf Association (WAGA) boasts a membership in excess of 300, with numerous tournaments staged year round. In addition to golf activities, WAGA has raised money for college scholarships for amputees. Members work to disseminate information about new developments in prosthetic devices that allow amputees to participate in sports and enjoy life to its fullest.
 


The American Diabetes Association is the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy. The mission of the organization is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. They fund research, publishes scientific findings, provides information and other services to people with diabetes, their families, health care professionals and the public.
A national, non-profit organization, Disabled Sports USA (DSUSA) was started 1967 by disabled veterans. DSUSA's mission is to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities by providing affordable inclusive sports and recreational experiences, which build self-esteem and confidence, enhancing active participation in community life.
